At age 14, Charles, and his siblings and other children on the school bus observe Dad knocking Mom down on the ground in the front yard of the house, sits on her and repeatedly beat her about the face, gets up and starts kicking her in the stomach, back and head.

At age 16, Charles and his siblings are arguing about the chores in the kitchen. Dad rushes into the kitchen and punches Charles extremely hard once in the stomach and face. Charles falls to the floor unconscious. He lies there on the floor for awhile and appears dead and lifeless. No one checks on Charles to determine if he is alive or dead. Eventually, Charles lives with his uncle, joins the job corps and later enlists in the military. Then he meets positive female and male-role models who encourage him to go back to school. During this time, Charles meets a beautiful young woman and marries her. Later, she starts physically attacking, verbally and emotionally abusing him. He runs away and later divorces her. Later while Charles is an adult, he earns his Master's degree in marriage, family and child counseling. Then he enrolls in six months of individual counseling so he can work through poverty and violence of his dysfuntional

family.  Later, he confronts his father about the ongoing beatings and verbal abuse that he inflicted upon him and his mother for so many years. SILENT CRY

IS A STORY ABOUT A BOY NAME CHARLES WHO IS 10 YEARS OLD WHEN HIS FATHER STARTS TO ABUSE HIM EMOTIONALLY AND PHYSICALLY FOR STEALING TRACTORS, SETTING THE HOUSE ON FIRE AND NOT DOING HIS CHORES DURING CHILDHOOD.

Charles Lee Whorry Author/Producer

Charles Lee was born in Proctor, Arkansas, in 1951 but was raised in Clarkedale, Arkansas. In 1975, he enlisted in the military and relocated to California. In 1989, he graduated with a Master's degree in marriage, family and  child therapy from a private university in Southern California. He is currently working as a child protective social worker, and he coordinates a parenting program in Northern California. Mr. Lee is married and has two adult daughters. He currently resides with his wife in Northern California. Life was not easy for Charles Lee and his family in Clarkedale. His father was a functional alcoholic, and he did not hesitate to punish his children with physical and emotional abuse to maintain obedience in the family. In Silent Cry, the author brings to life and vividly displays his experience of dealing with alcoholism, domestic violence, homelessness, poverty, and emotional abuse which he and his siblings endured as children in his family. Furthermore, having to deal with the deaths of some of his brothers, an uncle , and the relationship with his ex-wife can best be described as a life straight from hell! He even had to deal with horrible nightmares regarding killing his father as a means of escape. This is a mere example of the rich unforgettable drama that waits the readers of Mr. Charles Lee's first novel. The author states, " I wrote this novel of my life because I want people all over the world to read and share my life experiences with me. These experiences run deep with no frills. They are honest, moving, tearful, homely, entertaining, in a warm and simple sense."
